Now Is The Time

As the Christmas holidays are ending, I am thinking about all the “cracks and crevices” in my home that have been unattended way too long. It’s time to take a look and do some cleaning. As you have guessed by now, it has stirred up quite a similarity to the spiritual realm. Even with daily nourishment of dedicated Bible study and prayer, there are places that have overlooked our latest attention. The Lord is able to show us what those specific needs are. But unlike the physical realm, we are unable to “turn things around” without His cleansing power. Bended knees and a contrite heart are a great place to start…and if you will excuse me now, it’s my turn to kneel in His Presence.

Pass It On

Thanking the Lord for my wonderful parents. Not only did they pour their time and energy into our well-being all through life, but now they have left behind priceless beautiful memories of family, love, and sacrifice. Their possessions we have inherited are cherished reminders of a loving home saturated with the Lord’s foundation–just like the one we desire to instill in this next generation of our little “gifts from Heaven”.

He Still Reigns

Trust does not involve understanding. Blessing does not involve works. Walk with Me in faith and you will taste these riches of My Kingdom.
Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God.”

Choosing with Wisdom

Every day there is a choice to make: to lift our eyes to the Lord for His concerns or to set our vision on the clamor of this world. This decision will determine our steps, our mindset, and ultimately, our heart. Pray for wisdom. Find your strength by trusting His.
Psalm 18:32, “It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.”

I Run To You

“Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid”—John 14:27—That is what I long to do, but do not find it easy. Each day this world offers us a tirade of atrocities “to chew on”. We battle to keep our focus on His promises—“I will never leave you nor forsake you”; “Come unto Me, I will give you rest.” “Do not fear for I am with you”; “I will strengthen you and help you.” (Isaiah 41:10) Lord, I run to You—my Daddy God. Cover me with Your feathers and quiet me under Your wings. It’s stormy out there.

His Faithfulness Surrounds Us

The Lord brings purity and truth in the lives of those who love Him. We can trust Him for strength and purpose. As we look into His eyes of knowledge, we will recognize wisdom and security, even in a world of blistering conditions and disturbing events. His love never fails.
Psalm 89:8, Who is like You, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, are mighty, and Your faithfulness surrounds you.

Words Can Be Optional

Quiet, peaceful splendor initiates in our soul — a gift from the Lord. Without being verbalized, it can radiate from the inside. Its language is universal. Smiles and embraces can speak quite profoundly to those around us. His most loving Presence often abides in stillness.
1 John 3:18, “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. This is how we know that we belong to the Truth and how we set our hearts at rest in His Presence.”

His Amazing Word

How can Your Word be so encompassing?
So powerful, yet merciful.
Filled with laws, yet forgiving.
Historical, yet current.
Factual, yet full of insight.
Strengthening, yet using weakness.
Giving knowledge, yet requesting faith.
Eternal, yet given to mortals.
So loving, yet given to hardened hearts.
You are an amazing God! I willingly and thankfully fall at Your feet, accepting Your grace.
John 1:14, “We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Christ, Our Focus

Lord, there are situations in our lives that we think we can “handle” in a confident way. But You remind us that You want to be part of everything in our day. Your Presence is more important than our cleverness—Your compassion so clearly exceeds our efforts to help. Be prominent in our decisions so that You shine through every detail.

Psalm 89:15, Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of Your Presence, Lord.

Walking with Him

Our Lord always sat down and taught the ones He loved. He drew them close to hear His heart. He lead them to walk through their day together. Even today, His ways have not changed. Thanks be to our Lord for His consistent attention to us and unmistakable Presence to lead us.
2 Corinthians 2:14, “Thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of Him everywhere.”
